The 2025 Collaboratorium Symposium will take place on 10th and 11th November 2025 at the PRBB Auditorium. This year's symposium is titled Causality in Biology and AI.

As biological systems grow in complexity, distinguishing correlation from causation becomes increasingly challenging. At the same time, the explosion of biological data and advances in AI tools have led to questions about whether identifying causal relationships is even necessary for making predictions or driving practical advances.

This symposium will explore the role of causal inference in biology, across various types of data and mathematical approaches, and examine how far machine learning and AI can go in uncovering causal relationships in complex biological systems.
