The Barcelona Collaboratorium for Modelling and Predictive Biology is now open with its first newcomers and visitors working together since January 2023
International experts from the following disciplines have started working in the Collaboratorium since January 2023: theoretical biology, artificial intelligence/machine learning, complex systems, physics of life, computer science and engineering.
OPEN CALL FOR VISITOR FELLOWS
The Collaboratorium is also launching the first call for Visiting Fellows, which are researchers that will be part of the Collaboratorium for a limited period of time. Do you want to be part of this new joint-initiative led by Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) and EMBL? Visit us!
JOIN US
Researchers interested in visiting the Barcelona Collaboratorium are required to identify a local sponsor from one of the three institutions that are currently involved with this initiative, which are the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), EMBL Barcelona and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). Once a link with a local sponsor is established, please contact us: contact@barcelonacollaboratorium.com
Interested visitors will then be asked to provide a brief summary of their research proposal, justification of how their research aligns with the remit of the Collaboratorium and timescales for their visit. Proposals will be scored against the established evaluation criteria by the Collaboratorium co-chairs.
FUNDING
Visitors are encouraged to apply for funding to cover their time at the Collaboratorium. This can be obtained from several funding sources such as their own institutions, travel grants, etc. For example: EMBL has the following funding options.
For those researchers who cannot secure any funding after exhausting all the available options, the Collaboratorium will look at funding opportunities but these will be limited and considered on a case-by-case basis.
