Together with Mafalda Dias, I lead the Probabilistic Machine Learning and Genomics Group at the CRG, where our group develops models of the effect of genetic variation on phenotype. We are especially interested how we can use the diversity of life on Earth to learn about the genetic underpinnings of disease. We develop deep (and shallow) learning methods which enable us to learn from vast public datasets to increase the diagnostic yield of patient sequencing.
